'Doppelbangers' debunked: Celebrity couples who look alike are no more likely to stay together than pairs who have different faces, study finds

Daily Mail - Science & tech

From Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, to Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, celebrity couples often look weirdly alike. In fact, the phenomenon has coined the term'doppelbanger' – two people with similar facial features who are intimately involved. This has led to speculation that looking similar is somehow conducive to a better or more long-lasting relationship. But researchers in Germany, who used artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse celebrity photos, have found there is no evidence to support this. Celebrity couples who look alike are no more likely to stay together than pairs who have different faces, such as David and Victoria Beckham, and Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, they say.

Create your Own Face Recognition Authentication System using Python, Computer Vision, and Machine…

#artificialintelligence

Creating a Basic Face Lock isn't a Rocket Science when you have Python's Now we Have Both the NumPy Array The Registered one and another to Test on. Look at the comments to know what's every line doing So in Aspect Of Machine Learning, we are going to use a Classification Technique i.e. Run this Cell for 7–8 Times and Every Time Add train_list to a 2-D Matrix Column Wise for Every iteration. Create a respective [1:number of elements] matrix(TRAIN_Y) with Values 1 when you scanned your face and 0 when you used Different Faces. Heyyyaahh!! Model Is Trained: Now Every Time You Use This Facial Recognition Convert the Image to Respective List as we have Done Above, Then Use LogisticRegression.Predict() and Pass Your List In Predict Method.

iOS 12 Face ID To Recognize Two Different Faces On Same iPhone

International Business Times

Apple has announced iOS 12 and it comes with a slew of new features. Apple's iOS 12 update will actually let a second person register their face for Face ID, as first discovered by 9To5Mac. This new feature is hidden within the Face ID settings, under "Appearances." There's an option present there that lets users "Set up an Alternate Appearance." "In addition to continuously learning how you look, Face ID can recognize an alternate appearance," the description for the new feature reads. That may sound a bit vague, but tests appear to show that this will actually let a another person register a second face for Face ID.

On stage at CES for Engadget's After Hours show, creator Matt McMullen debuted a new personality named Solana – by switching the sexbot's life-like face for another. McMullen also revealed he is working on developing male sex bots along with the potential for more gender variation beyond that, and cleared up some misconceptions about how the integration of male anatomy may come to fruition. It looks like the Harmony sex robot is getting a sister.

A vicious circle: Stereotypes WARP how our brains 'see' faces to make them appear in a way that supports our biases

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Despite more women in the workplace and increasingly multicultural cities, stereotypes are holding firm. And now neuroscientists have discovered our stereotypical views can warp how our brains see faces, ultimately forcing them to conform to preconceptions. The discovery sheds light on how unintended bias affect the way people behave, and why it such biases are so hard to shake. Despite more women in the workplace and increasingly multicultural cities (stock image of a black man is pictured) stereotypes are holding firm. The research was carried out by Jonathan Freeman, an assistant professor in New York University's Department of Psychology and his colleagues.
